Survey of Westlake Hills, 1944
A hand-drawn surveyor's plat of the West Lake Hills area, drafted shortly after the Tom Miller Dam was completed and Lake Austin took its modern form. The 1944 survey is the canonical reference for parcel boundaries inherited from the original Davenport and Eanes-area land grants.
The 1944 survey was commissioned in the immediate aftermath of the Tom Miller Dam reconstruction, when the new shoreline of Lake Austin made the parcel boundaries along the western shore newly important. The original drawing is held by the Westlake Historical Society; a high-resolution scan will replace this placeholder once the document is digitized.
When that scan lands, the {`bounds`} block in this file's frontmatter will let it overlay directly on the interactive map.
