Rollingwood

City of Rollingwood + Westlake Historical Society · 1950s–present

The City of Rollingwood, Texas — a small residential community immediately east of West Lake Hills, organized around Rollingwood Park and the Western Hills Optimist Club. Distinct from West Lake Hills as a city, but historically and culturally intertwined.

Rollingwood was incorporated in the 1960s as a small residential city east of West Lake Hills, sharing schools, fire service, and much of its civic life with WLH. Its identity has long centred on Rollingwood Park — donated to the city by the Western Hills Optimist Club — and on the volunteer civic culture that built and maintains it.

This collection groups Rollingwood-specific material in the archive, contributed in part by the City of Rollingwood and supplemented by Eanes-area historians.
